Here is a compilation of recordings I did during @superbooth_berlin, it was great meeting everyone and being able to show the video synth in person! May has been a fairly busy month on my side, with Superbooth first, then Nuits Sonores festival here in Lyon, got a little sick in the meantime (coincidentally during a heatwave, so prototyping SMD stuff with hot air was pretty fun), and finally, moved from my old place at the end of the month. Almost done setting up my new workspace, should be running full speed again in a few days, which mean I'll be able to start fulfilling pre-orders. Will have some CBV001 Standalone and CBV002 Module in stock shortly. About VU003B/VU007B, got the DIY versions ready, started the SMD assembly of the sync generator boards, have to flash the bitstream to them, solder SMD parts to the analog boards and finish writing the documentation, so close to have those ready.
I've tested a first revision of VU003B SMD/Production version, which is mostly working, going for another minor revision. Have to test VU007B SMD/Production version, got the boards in, waiting for a few parts to arrive next week. About the next things coming, I've started designing the schematic for a glitch stabilizer module and also a logic based semi-modular synth/processor which will be the successor of FFG. Will focus on releasing the decoder and sync gen/encoder first, then should have more time to work on those. Quick extract of past Saturday performance at @nuits_sonores Needless to say, it was a blast doing visuals on those big screens, loved collaborating with @fasme_live on this gig, he’s an electro/acid genius and wonderful human! Thanks to everyone who made this possible, especially @chevry_agency, NS technical staff and of course, all the public attending, it was incredible! (For the video nerds out there, here is a short description of my setup: External sources were a Canon Legria HF200 camera to shoot the stage, some pre-recorded footages playing from a laptop, both were mixed using Edirol V440HD, with a third channel used for internal feedback. Those external sources were processed by the modular system, and keyed with the synthesised visuals just before the output stage. All the signal path was 1080i50.) ————————— Extrait de la performance de samedi dernier aux @nuits_sonores À l’évidence, c’était fou de pouvoir faire du visuel sur des écrans aussi grands, c’était un plaisir de collaborer avec @fasme_live, un génie de l’électro/acid et un humain formidable! Merci à tous ceux qui ont rendu ça possible, en particulier @chevry_agency, l’équipe technique des NS et bien sur, tout le public présent, c’était incroyable! (Pour les geeks de la video, voilà une courte description du setup: Les sources vidéo externes provenaient d’une camera Canon Legria HF200 pour filmer la scène, et des vidéos pré-enregistrées étaient jouées depuis un ordinateur, les deux étant mixés à l’aide d’un Edirol V440HD, avec sur une 3ème entrée, une boucle interne. Ces sources externes étaient traitées avec le synthétiseur modulaire, puis incrustés avec la synthèse vidéo avant l’étage de sortie.
